PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger which can prevent the leakage of air from a gap produced by the insufficient creeping of a brazing filler metal at the brazing section between the end section of a side plate and a sheet metal. SOLUTION: The end section 5c of a side plate is brazed to a sheet metal 3 after the section 5c is inserted into a side plate hole 3b2 made through the bottom section 3c of the metal 3. Consequently, an appropriate brazing clearance can be secured between a burring hole which is opened with high accuracy by press work and the end section 5c of the side plate. Therefore, reliable brazing can be realized and the leakage of air through the contacting section between the end section 5c of the side plate and sheet metal 3 can be prevented by eliminating the insufficient creeping of a brazing filler metal.
