A lock device comprising a lock housing (20) and a latch bolt (10), which is movably arranged in an opening (22) in the lock forend of the lock housing. The bolt (10) is movable between an outer position, in which it projects out from the lock housing, and an inner position in which it is essentially withdrawn into the housing. The latch bolt has an oblique outer end surface and can rotate about a longitudinal axis in an uncontrolled fashion, and is outwardly biased by spring means. The bolt also includes a holding side (13a) and a striking side (13b), said sides being straight and generally parallel with one another. The bolt also includes two mutually opposing curved sides (14), wherein each of the curved sides forms a circular arc that has a common centre of arc and that coincides with the longitudinal axis. As a result, the latch bolt obtains a better engagement function, which reduces the wear and load on the lock device and therewith increases its length of useful life. |
