PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a matrix computing element of an image processor usable even for interpolating operations and vector outer product operations other than operations for normal coordinate transformation and to decrease the circuit scale. SOLUTION: A geometry processor 10 having matrix computing elements 14X to 14Z which are connected to a vector bus VB supplying data as an object of coordinate transformation and a matrix bus MB supplying a coordinate transformation matrix and accumulates the coordinate conversion matrix in the coordinate-transformed data is provided with switching means 24 and 26 which supply a mixing ratio S28 to the vector bus and data as an object of interpolating operations to the matrix bus, and the matrix computing elements interpolate the object data according to the mixing ratio. The matrix computing elements for coordinate transformation are utilized to perform interpolating operations needed for subdivision surface processing, and hence no dedicated interpolating computing element is necessary and consequently the circuit scale is reduced. Further, vector outer product operations can be performed as well.
|
