PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for forming image, with which efficient image formation is enabled. SOLUTION: Images on fourth and sixth pages are parallel formed on an intermediate transfer belt 46 while being separated at an image interval ΔD1. The image on the sixth page is transferred on a sheet S3 and conveyed toward a paper ejecting part 64 while being separated from a sheet S2, which is first conveyed to a first paper ejecting route 641b, at a sheet conveyance interval ΔSD1 corresponding to the image interval ΔD1. At the time point when the top end of the sheet S3 is located at a switching part 65, next processing is executed. Namely, the conveyance of the sheet S2 into the first paper ejecting route 641b is completed and further a top end 651b of a switching flap 651 is returned to a position oriented to the side of a driven roller 642b. Then, the rotating directions of first and second paper ejecting roller pairs 643 and 644 are switched and the inverted conveyance of the sheet S2 is started. |
