PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter that reduces a memory capacity required by an IEEE 1394 driver without changing a capacity of a data buffer for absorbing jitter. SOLUTION: This data transmitter is provided with a data conversion section 101, a data buffer 102, a descriptor list 103 storing a descriptor provided with a prescribed address, an FIFO 107 that stores the prescribed address, and the IEEE 1394 driver 104 that references a prescribed address from the FIFO 107 with a start instruction from the data conversion section 101, extracts a data packet corresponding to the descriptor from the data buffer 102 and generates and outputs a transmission packet. Number of the prescribed addresses stored in the FIFO 107 is N (N is a number being 1 or over and less than the total number of the descriptors).
