PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact device, which allows an increase in an arc voltage generated between contacts and also enables interruption of a high DC voltage. SOLUTION: A contact device of the present invention includes a fixed contactor 21 having a fixed contact 21D; a moving contactor 22 having a moving contact 22A, the moving contact 22A being moved in such a manner that it is in contact with, or separated from the fixed contact 22C; and a driving portion 1 serving to drive the moving contactor 22 such that the moving contactor 22A in contact with, or separated from the fixed contact 21D. Also, the contact device has permanent magnets 23 into which the fixed contact 21C and the moving contact 22A are inserted opposite to each other. Furthermore, at portions in which arc 24 generated between the fixed contact 21D and the moving contact 22A is stretched by magnetic action of the permanent magnets 23, the fixed contactor 21 and the moving contactor 22 have arc running plates 21E and 22B on which arc moves.
