PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral device for a personal computer which can meet users' various requirements in terms of designs, is excellent in cost perfor mance and allow the rapid and easy assembly of non-defective devices in a large amount. SOLUTION: This device has lower and upper cases 200 and 300 made of resins which are combined with each other so as to cover a CD-RW unit 100 from below and above in a height direction. The lower case 200 has recessed parts 201 recessing from a parting line in the prescribed direction of a length direction. On the other hand, the upper case 300 has projections 301 projecting from the parting line in the positions corresponding to the recessed parts 201 of the lower case 200. The lower and upper cases 200 and 300 are positioned in the length direction and are combined with each other by the fitting of the recessed parts and the projections 201 and 301.
