A molded stator core for an electric motor includes a stator core 1 having a yoke 2 and a plurality of teeth 3 and 4, being of different types, formed on an outer periphery of the yoke 2, and a covering member 7 molded from an insulating resin so as to cover substantially the overall stator core 1 before the windings are wound on. In the molded stator core, an amount of resin axially flowing from each gate 10 to the corresponding tooth 3 of a first type is approximated to an amount of resin axially flowing from each gate 10 to the corresponding tooth 4 of a second type.
