organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: tramadol is synthesized by Grignard reaction. Grignard reaction between m-halogenanisole, magnesium and 2-(dimethylaminomethyl)-cyclohexanone is carried out in medium of organic solvent exhibiting donor properties. Meta-bromoanisole or m-chloroanisole are used as m-halogenanisole. Reaction is carried out with activation of magnesium with 1,2-dihalogenethane. 1,2-Dibromoethane, 1,2-dichloroethane or 1-bromo-2-chloroethane are used as 1,2-dihalogenethane source. Indicated 1,2-dihalogenethane is taken in the amount from 0.01 to 0.95 of the mole amount of m-halogenanisole. Ethers or amines are used an organic solvent.
