PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stabilized cooling capacity by a method wherein inconvenience that the closed condition of an expansion device is continued for a long period of time is avoided thereby making the generation of big fluctuation of a cycle hard upon a low load, which is readily generated intermittently, in a refrigerating cycle employing a refrigerant having a low critical point, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) or the like. SOLUTION: The non-electric type expansion device 5 for a refrigerating cycle is provided with a spring 20 for energizing a valve body 17 into the direction of opening of the valve, which is different from a bellows 19, for controlling the movement of the valve body 17 in accordance with the refrigerant condition of the side of a radiator. The control line of the expansion device 5 is approached to a saturation curve in the low load area whereby the opening and closing operations of the expansion device are effected frequently. A first spring for energizing the valve body into closing direction of the same and a second spring for energizing the valve body into opening direction can be provided as the regulating mechanism of the valve opening force, which is different from the bellows.
