<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black toner with which high picture quality can be stably obtained even when the toner is used at low humidity or high humidity and no image defect is produced with time. SOLUTION: The black toner contains at least a binder resin, carbon black and an organic metal compound. In this toner, the binder resin is a thermoplastic resin essentially consisting of a polyester resin. The average primary particle diameter of the carbon black is 20 to 80μm. The organic metal compound is an aluminum compound of benzilic acid without substituents or having substituents expressed by formula (1). The toner contains inorganic fine powder as an external additive having 0.001 to 0.2μm average primary particle diameter. The weight average diameter of the toner is 4 to 10μm. In the formula, R1 and R2 may be the same or different and each represents a substituent selected from among a group of straight-chain or branched alkyl groups, alkenyl groups, alkoxy groups, halogen atoms, nitro groups, cyano groups, amino groups, carboxyl groups and hydroxyl groups, and each of (m) and (n) is an integer of 0 to 5.</p> |
