Ground stabilization, involves addition of a hydraulic binder comprising industrial silicate glass and a basic reagent. A ground stabilization process comprises mixing the soil with a hydraulic setting binder comprising industrial silicate glass, i.e. a glass which has a total potassium oxide (Na2O) + potassium oxide (K2O) content of greater than 10%, is free from clinker and slag and is in a finely ground condition, and one or more basic reagents which adjust the added water to a pH of /-12, the glass/reagent weight ratio being greater than 3. An Independent claim is also included for a ground covering reinforced by hydraulic binder addition as described above.
