PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heating capacity of a multitubular heat exchanger the core section of which is constituted by arranging a plurality of tubes in the flowing direction of an external fluid. SOLUTION: In a multitubular heat exchanger in which a core section 23 through which an external fluid G is made to flow is formed by arranging a plurality of tubes 21 having ring-like cross sections in the flowing direction of the fluid G between an inlet tank 11 and an outlet tank 13 which are faced oppositely to each other at a prescribed interval, the tubes 21 are arranged in squares and the diameter d of the tubes 21 is set to 0.2-0.8 mm. In addition, the quotient P/d which is obtained when the center-to-center interval P between adjacent tubes 21 is divided by the diameters d is set to 0.5-3.5 and the interval L between the adjacent tubes 21 is set to d-2d.
