CALIBRATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a calibration method that the optical axis of an image pickup means needs to be adjusted for each vehicle and the same image processor can not be used for a vehicle on which its image pickup means is fitted at a different height or different angle. SOLUTION: This calibration method eliminates the need to adjust the optical axis of an image pickup device and makes it possible to fit the same image pickup device and image processor to a vehicle which is different in the fitting height and angle of the image pickup device when the image pickup device is fitted to the vehicle so as to automatically measure and use the installation state of the image pickup device for the operation of the image processor.
