PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation position detecting apparatus in which a detection knit having rotation-rectilinear propagation converting mechanism can be easily built in a casing and maintenance is facilitated. SOLUTION: A switch guide 52 is built in a casing 20 of a transfer unit 2 transferring rotation or swing of a swinging shaft 11 of a swinging unit 1 to a table 42. A rotation-rectilinear propagation converting mechanism 51 converting rotation or a rotation power transferring member 21 which are generated by the swinging unit 1 to a rectilinear propagation movement in the axial direction of the rotation, and an insertion fixing trench 58 for inserting a magnetism detecting switch 70 are installed in the switch guide 52. When the rotation power transferring member 21 rotates or swings, a screw shaft 53 is rotated at the position by a gear 54 of the converting mechanism 51. A magnet 56 of a rectilinear propagation member 55 screwed into the screw shaft moves along the screw shaft. This movement position is detected by the magnetism detecting switch 70 fixed to the trench 58, and the position of a rotating body which is rotated or swung by a driving axle is detected.
