PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely suppress temperature rise after stopping printing by irreducibly minimum driving of a cooling fan without requiring a temperature sensor. SOLUTION: A ratio detecting part 74 detects a fixing control ratio K showing a ratio of time of controlling the temperature of a fixing unit to a printing temperature to time of keeping printing stopped in a fixed period in the part. A predicting part 76 predicts a fan driving time Tf after stopping of printing in accordance with the detected ratio K. A fan control part 78 controls the rotation of a cooling fan 42 to keep a fan-controlling state at the time of printing during a fan-driving time Tf when printing is stopped and to stop the fan or to switch the rotation of the fan from fast rotation to slow rotation when the time Tf has passed.
