SOLUTION: The method of this invention is a method of transmission of a synchronizing signal in a CDMA mobile communication system consisting of at least a plurality of base stations and mobile stations, where the information symbol is spread in duplicate by using a short period spread code whose period is equal to an information symbol period and used in common by each base station and a long period spread code whose period is longer than the period of the information symbol and different from each base station, and the base stations transmit the synchronizing signal spread by using the short period spread code only, the base stations transmit the signal spread by only the short period spread code in transmission timing shifted by a prescribed time each by each base station. Furthermore, the base stations transmit the signal spread by the short period spread code only in transmission timing shifted by a prescribed time each by each of sectors in the same cell.
