PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for images having excellent image gloss and color reproducibility in spite of image density and image area rate and having excellent graininess and uniformity of the image gloss without the occurrence of color irregularity, an image forming device and a recording medium used for the same. SOLUTION: The image forming method for transferring the toner image transported to a transfer position by a toner image holding member for holding and transporting the toner image to the prescribed recording medium includes a transfer and fixing stage for bringing the transferred toner image into tight contact with the recording medium and transferring and fixing the toner image while heating the recording medium. The recording medium, which has a thermoplastic transparent resin layer on at least the surface of a base material to be transferred with the toner image and on which the softening point (Tmp) of the transparent resin ranges from +10 deg.C to -30 deg.C with respect to the softening point (Tmt) of the toners is used as the recording medium. Further, the method preferably includes a stage for preheating the toner image held on the toner image holding member in such a manner that the toner image attains a temperature above the softening point (Tmt) of the toners.
