PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a process cartridge, etc., which can easily execute the detaching and attaching operation of the contact charging means of a photoreceptor without requiring a dedicated electrical parts and suppress the permanent deformation, etc., of the contact charging means. SOLUTION: A charging roller metallic core 8a is partially deformed to be a flange part 36, a friction member 37 is fixed to the part 36 and a gear 34 is pressed to the member 37 by a compressed coil spring 38. A charging roller 8 is rotated by the rotation of a photoreceptor drum 7 to apply rotation force to the gear 34. A distance between pitches of a tooth-locked gear 34 and a drum gear 39 is made to be longer than the sum of the radius of the charging roller and that of the photoreceptor drum. When the rotation of the gear 34 is prevented by a stopper, the gear 34 stops at the position and is not engaged with the gear 39 and the charging roller comes into the state of pressurized contact with the photoreceptor drum. When the stopper is released by a regulation releasing means, the gear 34 is rotated following the core 8a and engaged with the gear 39 to be rotated, and the charging roller is separated from the photoreceptor drum.
