PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appropriate material from which a large radiation shield with a high shielding capability can be formed. SOLUTION: A sintered tungsten based alloy of high specific gravity is enclosed in a sheath made of metal or the like to form the radiation shield. The radiation shield having a high shielding capability and being of a large size can be manufactured.
