PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display having low brightness saturation caused by strong excitation by an electron beam and a low deterioration of a fluorescence membrane. SOLUTION: An image display has a fluorescence membrane of two-layer structure of a first fluorescent body layer 3, disposed on a face plate 4 and a second fluorescent body layer 2 which is disposed on the first fluorescent body layer, an average particle diameter of the first fluorescent body composing the first fluorescent body layer 3 being larger than the average particle diameter of the second fluorescent body constituting the second fluorescent body layer 2, preferably in the range of 20-200%.
