PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a cask and to achieve a reduction in weight of the cask, etc. SOLUTION: The cask 1 is fixed in a vertical position to a fixing object such as a storage frame 2 and has a step 52 on the outer periphery of its bottom 5 along its longitudinal direction. A fixture 6 coming into contact with the step 52 from above is fixed to the fixing object whereby the cask 1 is fixed to the fixing object. The cask thus fixed can be prevented from overturning, etc., in an earthquake, etc. In particular, no trunnion is used for fixing of the cask, so the need for a trunnion for fixing the cask is eliminated to simplify the structure of the cask and to achieve a reduction in weight, etc.
