PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile device that can prevent wrong transmission of important originals. SOLUTION: The facsimile device is provided with an image read section 1 that reads an image of an original to be sent, a character recognition section 6 that recognizes character strings included in the read image, a dictionary file 7 that stores one character string or more selected as confidential items to third parties, a discrimination section 8 that discriminates whether or not the character string recognized by the character recognition section 6 corresponds to any of the character strings stored in the dictionary file 7, and a notice section 10 that informs a sender of the image about it when the discrimination section 8 discriminates that the recognized character string corresponds to any of the character strings stored in the dictionary file 7.
