PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively conduct automatic focus control, automatic exposure control, automatic white balance control and electronic zoom control, even if an object is not positioned at the center of a finder. SOLUTION: This image-pickup device, where a CCD (102) converts an optical image obtained via an image forming optical system (101) into an electric image signal and it is stored, is provided with a read-only memory (108) that stores a specific image pattern, a correlation value calculation section (109) that calculates a correlation value between a partial image of the stored image signal and the specific image pattern, a data read control circuit (111) that detects a maximum value of the correlation value calculated by the correlation value calculation section, and an AF, AE, AWB control circuit (113), that conducts prescribed control on the basis of the partial image corresponding to the maximum value detected.
