PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem where a drive circuit is increased in size, since a three- phase drive signal has to be inputted to a vibrator in a conventional ultrasonic motor. SOLUTION: A vibration actuator 20 is provided with a vibrator 21, that has a longitudinal vibration generation part 23 for generating longitudinal vibration for vibrating in the direction of a one-dimensional relative movement being generated at an area with a relative movement member 26 that is pressurized for contacting, a first flexure vibration generation part 24a for generating flex vibration for vibrating in a pressurization direction at an area to the relative movement member 26 with a phase difference of approximately 90 degrees as compared with the longitudinal vibration, and a second flexure vibration generation part 24b for generating flexure vibration for vibration in the pressurizing direction at an area to the relative movement member 26 with a phase difference of approximately 180 degrees, as compared with vibration being generated by the first flex vibration generation part 24a. The first and second flex vibration generation parts 24a and 24b are provided with two polarization regions 24a-1 and 24a-2, or 24b-1 and 24b-2 that are polarized in directions that nearly orthogonally cross the vibration direction of longitudinal vibration and that of flex vibration and at the same time, in two different directions, while being aligned in the vibration direction of the second vibration. |
