PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of protecting inputted data up to the printing of the data. SOLUTION: The printing system has an input means for inputting protected data and information expressing the protection format of the protected data, a decoding means for decoding the protected data on the basis of the protection format information and generating the data of a printable format, a storage means for protecting the data of the printable format in accordance with the protection format and storing the protected data in a storage device, and an output means for decoding the protected data stored in the storage device in accordance with an operator's instruction and outputting printable data to a printer.
