PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness and weight of a housing by dispensing with provision of a guiding member with a part, such as upper guide for determining the position on the lid-side of an object to be housed. SOLUTION: A housing is comprised of a body 3 in which a table 6 for housing a recording medium 7 is provided, a lid 1 which can be opened and closed for covering the top of the body 3 and a guiding member 5 which is provided integrally with the lid 1. The lid 1 and the guide member 5 can be turnably journalled around fulcrums 5a formed on the back side inside the body 3 within a predetermined range. The guiding member 5 is comprised of side guides 5c and lower guides 5d and forms the inserting/withdrawing position of the recording medium 7, together with the inner sides of the lid 1. Accordingly, it is not necessary to provide the guide member 5 with a member for only determining the position of the recording medium 7 on the lid side. With the lid 1 holding the top of the body 3 in on open state, the inner sides of the lid 1 and the opening of the guiding member 5 formed in front of the housing by the guides 5c and 5d of the guiding member 5 are exposed to the outside.
