A compound of formulae 1, 2, 3 or 4 and the metallated and/or labeled and/or conjugated forms thereof wherein: R1 is independently C1-6 alkyl n is independently an integer of 0-6 R2 is vinyl or a vinyl derivative Also disclosed is the use of compounds of the above formulae in an improved method to conduct photodynamic diagnosis.
