SUBSTANCE: system designed for reactive power correction and three-phase sine-wave voltage regulation has booster transformer whose secondary winding is connected to load through reversing rectifier, filter, and double-bridge voltage inverter and its primary winding is connected in series with primary winding of substation's main transformer. Voltage across load is regulated by both amplitude and pulse-width modulation of high booster voltage. Pulse-width modulation is effected by means of double-bridge voltage inverter responding to voltage deviation across load; amplitude modulation is provided by reversing rectifier responding to supply or load voltage fluctuations. Stepped and stepless methods are used for reactive power correction. Stepped correction is effected by means of bank of cosine capacitors across power terminals and/or by means of filtering and correction circuits across load terminals. Stepless control of input or output reactive power is organized by double-bridge inverter using phase-lead or phase-lag control of output voltage as function of reactive power of supply mains.
