摘要 Enhancing electrophoretic separation of similar chemical or biological compounds, by applying alternating field tuned for selective promotion of molecular mobility, is new. Compounds (Ci) in a medium, e.g. a gel (10), are reacted with a component (P) present, obtaining products (Qi). Reactions are reversible, with kinetic constants k1, i, k2, i in forward and reverse directions respectively. A periodic field, to which the compounds (Ci) are sensitive, is applied to the gel. For the component (P) concentration, and kinetic constants (k1, k2) of the compound (C) to be separated, the field frequency is tuned to achieve reaction resonance and maximum apparent diffusion coefficient (Da) of the compound (C).
