PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary, with which complexity in operation is canceled by a little memories and simple processing procedures. SOLUTION: Concerning the electronic dictionary for retrieving desired information from a dictionary data storage part and displaying it on a display part by inputting an index word, this electronic dictionary is provided with a preservation control means for preserving dictionary class data expressing the class of dictionary data, which are defined as a retrieval object when the electronic dictionary is operated, in a data preserving means while using the data preserving means capable of preserving data in spite of the state of operating the electronic dictionary by utilizing plural kinds of mutually different dictionary data, a judging means for judging whether the dictionary class data are preserved in the data preserving means or not when the electronic dictionary is operated again, and a selecting means for selecting the dictionary data of the kind corresponding to the dictionary class data preserved in the data preserving means when it is judged by the judging means the dictionary class data are preserved. |
