<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely find a position and an emdedded depth of an underground pipe to realize measuring precision equal to that of a two-point method by a one-point method, even when a neighboring metal body such as other embedded pipe, a fence, a guard rail or a steel plate which is a generation factor of a sub-magnetic field in a detection operation exists in the vicinity of the objective emdedded pipe, while using the versatile one-point method operatable easily in an actual site. SOLUTION: When the embedded pipe P or the like is detected by the one- point method using a locator provided with a transmitter 1, a receiver 2 and an earthing means 3, a phase detecting means 23 for detecting a phase is equipped to the receiver 2 provided with a detector 21 and a display means 22, received information corresponding to a transmitted signal component having the phase same to a phase of a reference signal is taken out of received information by the phase detecting means 23, and the position P1 corresponding the ground level of the embedded pipe P and the embedded depth D are found based on the received information.</p> |
