PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a heat developable photosensitive material by which high sensitivity, high gradation and improved thermal and dimensional stabilities are ensured and the occurrence of black spots is prevented. SOLUTION: A heat developable photosensitive material having photosensitive silver halide, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder on the substrate is processed with an automatic heat processing machine having a heating part comprising a section having 0.5-2 deg.C/cm temperature gradient A represented by the equation A=Δt/x [whereΔt is raised temperature ( deg.C) and (x) is conveyance distance (cm)] and a section kept at a constant temperature.
