PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute control without the need for controller to transmit a command to a device to be controlled for its control by displaying an operation menu of the device to be controlled onto a screen of the controller and informing the device to be controlled about operation contents of a user. SOLUTION: A DTV operation menu 71 is displayed on a CRT display screen 61 of a DVT being a controller of a network. When the user selects a DVHS by using a button displayed on the DTV operation menu 71, data corresponding to the operation menu of the DVHS are given to the DTV via the network and a DVHS operation menu 72 is displayed on the CRT display screen 61. Since the DTV informs the DVHS about the operation of the user executed for the DVHS operation menu 72, the DTV can execute the control corresponding to the operation of the user without the need for direct control of the DVHS.
