PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion heater which shortens start-up time of main combustion by enabling the ignition of fuel to be performed in its early stage. SOLUTION: A combustion heater A is equipped with a combustion drum 1 which is tubular and is supplied with combustion air from the side of one end opening 10 by means of a blast means, a main wick for combustion which is arranged on the side of one end opening 10 of the combustion drum 1 and is supplied with fuel through a fuel supply pipe 21, an auxiliary wick 3 which is so arranged as to be in contact with the main wick 2, and a glow plug 4 which pierces the auxiliary wick 3 and heats the auxiliary wick 3 and the main wick 2.
