The seat (2) is mounted to slide longitudinally on the base (3), with a locking mechanism. The seat back (4) is mounted to rotate relative to the seat, around a transverse axis (X), between a raised position, for use, and a position, where the back is folded down towards the front. A transmission device (15), consisting of a wire link (18) and a tension spring (16), connects the back to the control rod (10) of the locking mechanism, to release the slide mechanism, when the seat back is in the folded forward position.
