PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electromagnetic induction heater with a simple structure which enables effective cooling of a magnetic core and an exciting coil and realizes a small size of the apparatus. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic induction heater 2 to heat the heated object 1 with an electromagnetic induction heating layer 1b is installed with a magnetic core 3 composed of a magnetic material and arranged opposite to the heating layer 1b of the heated object 1, the exciting coil 4 winding the magnetic core 3 to generate a variable magnetic field H penetrating the heating layer 1b, and a stand 5 provided with a radiating channel 6 to support the magnetic core 3 and the exciting coil 4. The heater 2 is installed with an air blast mechanism 7 and a radiation material 8 if necessary. The invention also provides a picture recorder which comprises the heater 2 with the heated object 1 as a picture carrier and a fixation tool 12 to transfer and fix an unfixed picture heated and molten by the heater 2 to a recording material 13.
