foundry, particularly, manufacture of split and solid magnetic molds with pole pieces by lost and permanent patterns. SUBSTANCE: at least one pole piece with point is located at poles of magnetizing device. Pattern with curved surface is installed at this point. Pole piece and pattern are surrounded with magnetized molding material which is compacted by action of magnetic field, and pattern is removed. In manufacture of magnetic molds for spherical castings, cone-shaped member is used as pole piece with point. Placed between patterns with spherical surfaces in manufacture of at least one pair of spherical castings are inserts in the form of cone-shaped members with their points facing these patterns. Pattern with spherical surface is installed with aligning of axes of this pattern and cone-shaped members. All cone-shaped members are made of magnetically soft materials with high magnetic permeability. EFFECT: eliminated rejects of magnetic molds by exclusion of flocculation of spherical cavities of magnetic molds, reduced material consumption and labor input in manufacture of magnetic molds, particularly, with installation and production of cone-shaped members. 4 cl, 3 dwg, 2 ex
