PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device which is capable of uniformly illuminating the entire surface of a transmitted light type liquid crystal display device without the occurrence of luminance unevenness, is capable of enhancing the manufacturing workability and manufacturing cost effectiveness of this illumination device and enhancing the illumination efficiency thereof. SOLUTION: A housing of the illumination device which illuminates a light transmission type liquid crystal display plate fixed and supported in the front surface part of the housing with the emitted light from a light source arranged and fixed in the housing through this plate is integrally provided with a reflection wall for reflecting the emitted light from the light source to the light transmission type liquid crystal display plate, and further a notch for light control for making the transmission luminance of the light transmission type liquid crystal display plate approximately uniform is formed at this reflection wall. |
