PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method therefor capable of reducing a failure of a display picture showing striped irregularity. SOLUTION: When a polarizing plate 23 is stuck on the back of a rear substrate 21, a conductive elastic body 41 is arranged on a part of a base 40 directly under an electrode part 25 of a liquid crystal cell. Then, the cell is vacuum- sucked, the electrode part 25 is arranged so as to come in contact with this conductive elastic body 41. Thus, when the cell is arranged on the base 40, the electrode part 25 is short-circuited concerning all the lines of an SEG electrode and a COM electrode. Namely, the upper and lower electrodes holding a liquid crystal layer are short-circuited. Even if the polarizing plate 23 is stuck in this state, the liquid crystal is not turned on for a display, therefore, striped irregularity does not appear. |
