METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SPENT FUEL STORAGE MEMBER AND MIXED POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce rectangular pipes. SOLUTION: Aluminum powder and neutron absorbent powders are admixed and a preliminary compact is formed therefrom by cold isostatic pressing(CIP). As the preliminary compact is canned, it is sintered by hot isostatic pressing(HIP). After sintering, cans are externally shaven and cut on their end faces to take out billets. The billets are extruded to form the rectangular pipes.
