PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin spindle motor in which good rotational characteristics can be attained by imparting a side pressure to a slide bearing while decreasing the number of parts. SOLUTION: The spindle motor 1 comprises a rotor 4 comprising a fixed stator 9 applied with a winding 8, a shaft 2 of magnetic body and a driving magnet 13 facing the stator 9 and rotating integrally about the shaft 2, a sliding bearing 3 for supporting the shaft 2 rotatably, and a member 6 for supporting the thrust load of the shaft 2 wherein the thrust supporting member 6 has a pole 6a eccentric to the center of rotation L1 of the shaft 2.
