PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photographic material having high light absorbency and high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic material contains at least one silver halide emulsion containing silver halide grains combined with a combination of two or more dyes including (a) a dye having at least one substituent with a negative charge and (b) a dye having at least one substituent with a positive charge. At least one of the dyes has further been substituted by at least one hydrogen bonded donor substituent.
