PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a silver halide photographic sensitive material without causing coating defects, particularly unevenness in coating by coating the surface of a substrate with a gelatin-containing coating solution such as an emulsive coating solution in the production of a silver halide photographic sensitive material with high productivity attained by an increased coating speed, thinned coating, a lowered gelatin content of a coating solution and a reduced viscosity of the coating solution. SOLUTION: The surface of a substrate is coated with a gelatin-containing coating solution while continuously conveying the substrate to produce a silver halide photographic sensitive material. When the setting start temperature of the coating solution is represented by ST ( deg.C), the temperature of the coating solution by CT ( deg.C) and the temperature of the surface to be coated by FT ( deg.C), the surface is coated with the coating solution under conditions within the range of the relational expression 48 deg.C>=CT>FT>=ST+X (where X is 0-8 deg.C) and the objective silver halide photographic sensitive material is produced.
