The sewing plate (32) includes two recesses. The first is the needle (36) descent region (75). Downstream of this, in the direction of material advancement (A), the open slider recess is located. A bridge (73) intervenes between the recesses. The presser-foot (37) comprises main- (40) and an auxiliary- (42) sections. The auxiliary presser foot is attached to the main presser foot, is spring-loaded against the sewing plate and includes the needle descent region. Preferred features: Toothed dogs (70, 71) in slider recesses, advance (A) the material, which is sewn with needle and shuttle threads. In a development there are two needles, with similar stitch plate, slide recess, bridge and divided foot with spring loading.
