The guide (1) has a socket (3) for the transmission member supported on the shift gear by a support (4). The socket is formed from a re-shaped part of sheet metal drawn into a sleeve. The transmission member is a selector shaft or gear shaft housed rotatable and/or longitudinally displaceable in the socket. The support and socket can be welded together.
