The control element has two air cylinder mechanisms, a base frame, through openings for connecting pressure chambers in both air cylinder mechanisms, a pair of connections for feeding compressed air to the pressure chambers and at least one air damping mechanism with an outlet opening, a throughput rate limiting mechanism and a damping seal ensuring that air under pressure only passes to the pressure chambers via the outlet opening.
