NOISE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A noise suppression system and method for a cable TV network configured as a node and hub is provided. A data signal extending over a data frequency band is transmitted between the node and a hub and the data frequency band comprises a plurality of data sub-bands. The method includes the step of removing a noisy part of the data signal within a data sub-band so as to reduce the noise of the data signal. A system embodying the method includes a frequency sensitive device to enable removal of the noisy part only of the data signal.
