The theater winch has a drive motor (12), especially electric, driving a cable drum via a belt drive reduction transmission in at least two stages. The belt drive has a first shaft (17) directly coupled to the drive motor, a second shaft (25) directly coupled to the cable drum and a third shaft (26) in the force transfer path forming a blocking mass with its pulleys (30,31) with a lower natural frequency than the motor stimulation frequency.
