New bis-para-aminophenol compounds, useful as developer components in oxidation dye compositions for keratin fibers, especially human hair

Alkylene- or dioxyalkylene-bis-p-aminophenol compounds (I) are new. Bis-p-aminophenol compounds of formula (I) and their water-soluble salts are new. R1 - R4 = 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C monohydroxyalkyl, 3-4C dihydroxyalkyl, -CaH2aOCbH2b+1, allyl, halo, allyloxy, CH=CH-COOZ'; one of R1/R2 and one of R3/R4 may also = H; a, b = 1-3; Z' = H or a cation; R5, R6 = H, 1-3C alkoxy or 1-3C alkyl; A = (CH2)x, CH2-c(CH3)c, O(CH2)yO, O(CnH2n-z(OH)z)O, O(C2H4O)u or O(C3H6O)v; u, v, x, y = 1-4; n = 1-10; z = 1, or may also be 2 if n = 3 or more; c = 1 or 2. An Independent claim is included for oxidation dye compositions (A) for keratin fibers, containing (I) as developer and conventional cosmetic components.
